It apparently got up to 70 today. I don't know, I was asleep. I apparently caught the thing that's going around. In theory I was just going to stay home and telecommute, but it quickly became obvious that I was just going to stay home and be sick. I did manage a couple of billable hours, but..
So, yeah. I missed my opportunity it seam seal my tent again. Dammit.

I've forgotten how to entertain myself
I'm baching it tonight. So, I did what you're supposed to do. I made a sandwich and I drank a beer. Unfortunately, I remembered that I was going to go be all athletic and buff and stuff tomorrow, so I can't have too much more beer. Now I'm on seltzer water.
Do you have any idea how boring it is here with no husband? I ran out of entertainment at 5:45. He's been away less than 6 hours. I haven't even been home from work for very long. AND I got a new copy of Backpacker magazine in today, which I already read. I am so screwed.
I guess I'll be super, super lame and go to bed early. I'm hoping to be warm enough, strong enough, and butch enough to do the park loop twice tomorrow. Wish me luck my butt doesn't fall off from cold!
Also, completely randomly, here's some things I ate:

Sometimes I'm easily distr- oh look, shiny!
Oh thank goodness I have Eddy back. He's driving smooth, too. It was good to be in the driver's seat again. I picked him up after work today. Rabies is now parked again and I hope not to drive her for a good long while. I got tired of planning extra space around everything. And parking at the back of the lot because she's too big for any of the normal parking spaces, that got on my nerves.
I didn't get a ton of sleep last night. JD's plane was delayed due to tornadoes. I did finally get to sleep before he got home. JUST before he got home. I wasn't terribly alert when he came in. I woke up and from under the pillow I observed the dog tilting her head from side to side. Generally she would get up and start barking and whining when JD came home, but last night she just put her head back down. The next time I opened my eyes, I could see a naked man from mid thigh to mid chest. Which, I admit, made me open my eyes a bit wider. And then I mumbled a sleepy "Hi, honey" and went back to sleep.
This morning, I kept hitting the snooze alarm for over half an hour. I finally pried myself out of bed with the promise of caffeine. Caffeine AND a breakfast sandwich. I was actually dressed and down the stairs before I remembered that I would be driving Rabies. I've been avoid drive-thrus because I don't see myself successfully navigating the little lanes without taking out any curbs or menu displays.
Fortunately the cafeteria at work reopened not long ago, and they cook up breakfast sandwiches. It wasn't greasy like McDonald's, and it didn't come with hash browns like McDonald's, but it was good. And I got to have strawberries and watermelon on the side.
I'm still feeling a bit disjointed. My train of thought derailed last night, around the time my attic fan started making jackhammer noises. It stopped, but that was the last time I had any luck in.. what was I talking about again? I have no idea.
Okay I'm going to bed now.

Debbie Harry sang a song about it once
Aw, crap. I got to watching tv (well, downloaded episodes of tv, seeing as we have neither cable nor reception) and forgot I had a blog. I almost went to bed. But then I would have woken up in a cold sweat. And I intend to take a shower before bed, so the sweat would have been annoying.
So, let's see. Y'all ready for some Rapture? Rapturing? Rapturousness? Raptors? I'm thinking about having a party. Some people say there will be folks floating up in the sky. Somebody else told me it will happen like a flash of lightning. You'll be walking along and you'll look over and Bob will be gone. I didn't manage to get the details on whether or not Bob will take his cellphone and chinos to heaven, but if he doesn't I'm sure he wouldn't mind you taking them after he's gone. None of the descriptions of heaven I've read have involved cellphones, and I think they wear robes there. I suppose there could be pants under the robes. At any rate the electronics are a safe bet.
So I was thinking I might sit out on the porch and drink a Double Bag and wait for floaters and/or looters. At the office I put up a sign that said "No looting please. We're sinners. We'll still need all our stuff." I'm just making an assumption on the part of my office mates, but I'm pretty sure if you dug deep enough you'd find some sin. Maybe just one of those small sins, like envy. Technically as an atheist I'm not a sinner because I don't have anyone to sin against (feel free not to correct me if I'm wrong) but that didn't stop the Inquisition and it probably wouldn't stop looters.
Rapture aside, I have some pretty exciting plans for tomorrow. Rubbing goop onto Pluto's chin, hanging out while he gets his pedicure, maybe fly spraying a little. Then shoe shopping. I realize that everybody who has ever met me wonders why I need to shop for shoes when I wear the same pair of hiking boots every day, but I have this crazy idea that I might find some trail runners that fit well enough that my feet don't slide down to the toe when I'm standing on a steep slope. If I found those, I could wear them every day instead. Though I really need to get a formal pair, because regular trail shoes don't go with quite everything. I didn't wear a skirt today because it wouldn't go with my hiking boots, for instance.
Aaaand it's a blog. Time to hit the showers. Night all!
